So I am one of the last people to see this movie, but the bad reviews DID NOT PUT ME OFF.
I thought it was actually really good, and hilarious!!!!!
Chris Tookey, reviewer for the Daily Mail, was very critical of the movie. Example:
'the central idea seems to be to make the two leads as lacking in sexual chemistry as possible and plonk them into an unrecognisable universe.'
NO DUDE- YOU ARE WRONG!
Heigl and Butler have great chemistry in this movie. Like in the club when they dance to that sexy salsa music- you can feel the heat! That was probably my favourite scene in the movie- you knew they wanted each other. Yes Tookey, for sure!
AND:
'The ugly truth is that there hasn't been be a more loathsome, depressing or woman-hating movie this year. This is a new low in romantic comedy.'
UMMMM??? If people can't take a joke then that's their problem. British people are always offended, insulted, and are prudes. Of course a comedy where men makes sexual jokes about women is gonna be viewed by some as offensive. To be honest, there are a few home truths- most men do like women for sex! They do think about it all the time, and men are dirty. Durrrr! If a grown-up woman does not know this then they are seriously naive.
Also- of course nice women fall for 'bad boys!' Look at Katy Perry and dirty Russell Brand. What more proof do you need!!!!???????
